Here are a few rules that you should remember while using BBCode:
- Always align your text and create content squares (ie: [block][/block] tags) before you try to change the appearance of text.
- To embed YouTube videos or sounds from YouTube, look at the URL of the video you want. Then copy the collection of numbers, letters, and symbols that appear between "v=" and the "&" symbol. Finally, put this text between the [youtube][/youtube] or [sound][/sound] tags to put that video into your profile or post.
- If you try to use the [sound][/sound] tags on the forums, they will be automatically translated to normal videos. This is done to reduce unwanted noise and to avoid situations in which multiple sounds start playing at the same time.
- All tags, except [line], must have a closing tag. If the tag looks like "[tag]", the closing tag will look like "[/tag]".
- If you're using multiple tags, you must close them in the correct order. To understand how to do this, remember that the last tag you use will be the first one you close. For example: [b][i][u]Good[/u][/i][/b] would be correct, while [b][i][u]Wrong[/b][/i][/u] would not work.
- Don't overuse BBCode, since many people find it hard to read text if it has been significantly altered. Most of your text should look plain and easily-readable, especially on the forums.
